Copyright Policy
Last updated: 30 June 2026
rategale respects intellectual property rights and expects its users to do the same. This policy explains how to report content you believe infringes your copyright, and how we handle repeat infringement. It is part of our [Terms of Service](/legal/terms) and works alongside our [Community Guidelines](/legal/community-guidelines).
1. Don't post infringing content
Only post content you created or have permission to use. Posting images, video, audio, text or other material that infringes someone's copyright or trademark is not allowed and may be removed.
2. Reporting copyright infringement (takedown notice)
If you are the rights holder (or authorized to act for one) and believe content on rategale infringes your copyright, send a notice to [copyright@rategale.com] with:
- Your contact details (name, email, and address where relevant).
- Identification of the work you say is infringed.
- The exact location of the infringing content on rategale (links to the
specific review, post, comment, profile or media).
- A statement of good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the rights
holder, an agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information is accurate, and that you are the rights holder
or authorized to act on their behalf.
- Your signature (physical or electronic).
Submitting false claims may have legal consequences. Only the rights holder or an authorized agent should submit a notice.
3. What we do with a valid notice
When we receive a complete, good-faith notice, we may remove or disable access to the reported content and notify the user who posted it, giving them the reason. We keep a record of notices for compliance.
> Note on reviews. Because published reviews are part of an honest public record, > a copyright notice cannot be used to remove a genuine review. It applies to > allegedly infringing material within content (for example a photo or video used > without permission), not to the existence of an honest review itself.
4. Counter-notice
If your content was removed and you believe this was a mistake or that you have the rights to use it, you may send a counter-notice to [copyright@rategale.com] with:
- Your contact details.
- Identification of the removed content and where it appeared.
- A statement under penalty of applicable law that you have a good-faith belief
the content was removed by mistake or misidentification.
- Your consent to the jurisdiction of the competent courts, where applicable.
- Your signature.
We may restore the content if the original complainant does not pursue the matter further, as permitted by applicable law.
5. Repeat infringers
We will, in appropriate circumstances, restrict or terminate the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe intellectual property rights.
6. Trademarks
For trademark concerns (for example, misuse of a brand name or logo, or impersonation of a business), contact [copyright@rategale.com] with details of your registered mark and the allegedly infringing content. Impersonation of businesses is also covered by our [Community Guidelines](/legal/community-guidelines).
7. Changes
We may update this policy. We will update the "Last updated" date above.
